Intermediate Championship – Oola 1-12 Galbally 0-10
All roads led to Hospital on Friday evening last, where Oola faced top of the table Galbally in round 4 of the intermediate County Championship. On a sunny evening Oola played with the aid of a slight breeze and got off to a great start scoring the 4 unanswered points from play. Oola kicked on to score a further 6 points in the half; 5 from play and a free converted by Josh Ryan. At half time Oola led 10 points to Galbally’s 3 points.
Galbally came out in second half and were unlucky not to score a goal hitting the crossbar; the ball was cleared by the Oola defence. The first score of the second half was a Keith Bourke point. Oola were awarded a penalty which was converted by John Bourke leaving the score 1-11 to 8 point with 15 mins left in the match. The Oola backs came under pressure as Galbally went in search of a goal however to noo avail. A great team effort meant Oola finished the match 1-12 to 10pt.
This result leaves Oola top of the table on 7 point and will face 3rd place Athea on the 2nd September.
