Oola Notes - 5th Aug 2019

Results:
Senior Football Championship
Round 3 of the Senior Football Championship was played on Tuesday 30th July, Oola faced Na Piarsaigh in Claughun. Oola got off to a great start scoring 1 -1 from the boot of Josh Ryan within 5 minutes. The first goal was a converted penalty which was won by Richie English. Keith Bourke scored got the next 2 score again 1-1. 3 further points from Richie English Keith Bourke and Josh Ryan left the score at half time Oola 2-5 Na Piarsaigh 0-4. Na Piarsaigh rallied in the second half and mid-way through the second half there was only 1 goal in it. However, Oola finished the stronger team winning out on a score line of 2-11 to 1-09

Senior Football Championship
Round 4 of the Senior Football
Oola were out 3 days later on Friday 2nd of August when they faced St. Kieran’s in Clarina in the Round 4 of the Senior Football Championship. Again another blistering start form Oola which saw them lead at half time 2- 5 to 0-6. Goals coming from the boot of Richie English and Pat Ryan. As expected St. Kieran’s came at Oola in the second half in which they score 9 points. Oola however with another goal from Richie English and point from Pat Ryan and 2 wonderful points from out on the side line from Keith Bourke ran out winners on a score line of Oola 3-8 St. Kieran’s 0-15.
There is now a 3 weeks break until the final round against Newcastle West on August 25th in Kilbreedy at 6pm.

East Minor Championship:
Oola played Kilpeacon in the East Minor Semi Final on Wednesday 31st of July. Kilpeacon were comfortable winners on a score line of Oola 1-6 Kilpeacon 6-7. The minors will now compete in the Minor B final date to be confirmed.
 
Nursery Program:
The Oola GAA nursery group held a very successful Ice cream party with all monies raised going to Down syndrome Ireland in supporting their new focus this year in offering peer to peer support to new families and offering practical resources to young kids with down syndrome starting out on their educational journeys. A huge thank you to everyone who gave so generously to the cause in raising a great amount €400. Also thank you to Katie and Sadhbh of "kids party hosting Tipperary" who gave up their spare time complimentary in painting the kids’ faces and also to Laura, Rachael and Rebecca for their Ice cream hosting. Well done to Treasa Ryan on organising this great event.

Gaelic for mothers and others:
Gaelic4Mothers&Others launches in Oola this Wednesday at 8pm.

The Gaelic4Mothers&Others initiative sees women playing Ladies Gaelic Football in a fun, non-competitive and social environment. Gaelic4Mothers&Others provides an opportunity for women to get their recommended weekly exercise in a fun way while meeting other mothers in the area.

No previous playing experience needed open to all ages, abilities and fitness levels.
