Oola U14s got the football year off to a good start with a 3-03 to 1-03 win over Ballybrown in the Féile Peil na nÓg.
The match was played in Oola on a heavy pitch and with a strong wind blowing down the field.
Ballybrown started strongly but the Oola defence and goalkeeper played well against the wind to keep them out, as the half wore on Oola got more into the game and the half finished level at 1-02 each.
The second half started with Ballybrown on top. Again our defence was strong and as the weather got worse Oola improved and made better use of their possession. The forwards took their chances well and two second half goals allowed Oola to finish 3-03 to 1-03 winners.
