Junior A Championship.

Oola played our neighbours Pallasgreen in the Junior A Football Championship on Sunday last in Cappamore.  Oola proved much too strong for Pallas from the very start. The half time score was Oola 3-5 Pallas 0-1.  Oola continued to dominate the game in the second half winning out on a scoreline of Oola 4-12 Pallas 2-5.

Oola Notes - 9th April

U9 Nursery Program:
Oola and Doon GAA Movement Skills programme for U9's takes place Monday evening 7-8 at Scoil na Trionoide Naofa in Doon
All children welcome to attend.

Results:
Oola ladies' footballers make the long trip to Athea on Saturday evening to play the first round of the intermediate football championship. Despite the recent rain, the pitch was in excellent condition allowing both team to contest a fast and open game. There was never much between but Athea held a slim lead entering the last five minutes. Quick thinking from Kathleen Bradshaw resulted in a goal from a free for Oola, and Ellie Bourke added a point from another free to give Oola a two point lead entering injury time. Despite some strong attacks from Athea, the Oola defence held out for a hard-earned win, on a score line of 2-10 to 1-11.

Oola Senior Footballers travelled to Clarina on Sunday evening last where they faced Ballysteen in the championship.  Ballysteen ran out comfortable winners on a scoreline of 2-12 to 0-5

Results:

Oola Senior Footballers played their first competitive match of the year as they faced Mountcollins in the County League on Sunday last in Oola. The score at half time was Oola 1-6 Mountcollins 0-3, Oola went on to win the match on a scoreline of 1-11 to 1-9.

Child Protection Workshop: 

Child Protection Workshop will take place in Oola Community Centre on Wednesday 21st March from 7 to 10pm.

Workshop is mandatory for anyone involved with an underage team or a Senior Team that has players under 18. Young people aged 16 to 18 can attend the Workshop with prior written consent from their parents. 

If you have attended this workshop previously, with any GAA club, you do not need to attend again.

Places are limited so please contact Mary Purcell, Child Welfare Officer on 087 2435970 to book a place.


Race Night:

Oola GAA Race night will take place in Hogan’s Bar Oola this Sunday 18th March. This is always an enjoyable night all support is greatly appreciated.


Club Limerick Draw:

Peter Gardiner, Alan O ’Mahoney and Sinead Burns will be collecting money for CLUB Limerick draw 2018.  The first draw will take place the end of March. It provides a valuable source of finance to all clubs. New member are welcome

Oola GAA Notes, 19th February


Ladies Football:
Well done to Leah Coughlan, Kathleen Bradshaw & Andrea Ryan who are on the Limerick Minor Football squad. Also, Karen O'Dwyer, Amy Ryan & Siobhan Moloney who were on the Limerick panel for NFL Division 4 match against Wicklow.


Medal Presentation:
A medal presentation to our U13 Boys, U12, U14 and U16 girls was held in Oola Community Centre on Saturday 10th February. Congratulations to all the players on their achievements in 2017.
Thanks to all who attended. Also a big thank you to Siobhan Moloney and Michael Quinlivan for giving up their time to present the medals, a great night was had by all.

If so, apply to attend the FREE #GAAyouth Forum supported by Sky Sports! 
The #GAAyouth Forum is designed by young players, for young players. The Forum will be fun and informative with a mix of interactive exhibitions, workshops, high profile speakers and a Q&A session. 

600 delegate places are up for grabs for male and female players in three age groups: 
12 - 15 (Junior Cert Cycle); 16 - 18 (Leaving Cert Cycle) and 19 - 21.

Results:
County League Round 2 - Oola 1-16 Mountcollins 1-8
Oola made the long journey to Mountcollins on Saturday last and put in a great team performance beating Mountcollins on a score line of 1-16 to 1-8.  Oola were behind 4pts to 1pt inside the first 10 minutes but lead from there on and ran out comfortable winners in the end.  The half time score was Oola 1-7 Mountcollins 0-4.

Oola County Junior Champions 2016 were presented with the county and county league medals Saturday last in Ballykisteen Hotel. An enjoyable evening was had by all with medals presented by Cork’s 8 time all Ireland winner Juliette Murphy.
